Manuel Ortiz and Another Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on Shattuck Place [Orange, CA]

Orange, CA (November 25, 2023) On Thursday evening, Manuel Ortiz and another person were fatally struck in a suspected DUI crash on North Shattuck Place.

According to the Orange Police Department, the fatal hit-and-run crash happened around 8 p.m. near the 55 Freeway.

Reports say that a Ford F-250, driven by 26-year-old Humberto Flores hits a parked Chevy Silverado. Unfortunately, Ortiz and another man was standing near the Chevy when the collision happened.

Authorities say that both men were killed in the collision, afterward, Flores fled the scene on foot, police were able to catch him a short time later.

Police says that Flores is facing multiple charges including two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI causing death and fleeing the scene of a crash.

Moreover, Ortiz’s family and friends set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
