Odessa Man Killed After Being Struck by Two Vehicles in Ector County

Ector County, TX (December 5, 2025) — 55-year-old Manuel Vidana-Contreras died Wednesday evening after two vehicles struck him at the intersection of West 42nd Street and FM 1936 in Ector County, with one driver fleeing the scene.

Texas DPS reports that the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. when Vidana-Contreras attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of West 42nd Street. An eastbound 2024 Lincoln Nautilus hit him, and moments later, a second vehicle—whose driver has not been identified—also struck him before leaving the area. Vidana-Contreras was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to contact Texas DPS or the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.
