Marcos Ortega-Lopez Arrested in Tragic Pedestrian Crash on East 4th Way [Aurora, CO]

Aurora, CO (January 18, 2025) — On Friday, a woman died in a hit-and-run crash on East 4th Way, while Aurora police arrested Marcos Ortega-Lopez in connection to the fatal incident.

According to authorities, the collision happened around 5:15 a.m. near the intersection of Havana Street and East 4th Way.

Investigators said the woman was attempting to cross Havana Street when a vehicle struck her and fled the scene. First responders pronounced her dead at the location.

Authorities later identified and arrested 31-year-old Ortega-Lopez on suspicion of leaving the scene of a fatal crash, a felony offense.

Police have not yet recovered the vehicle involved, which they believe is a blue 2007 Toyota Corolla with front-end damage. Investigators continue to ask the public for assistance in locating the car.
