Woman Killed in Head-On Collision on Alameda Avenue in Fabens

Fabens, TX (December 11, 2025) — 54-year-old Maria Romo died and two others were injured early Wednesday after a head-on collision involving three vehicles on Alameda Avenue., according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the crash site near the 17000 block of Alameda Avenue shortly before 5:30 a.m. on December 10.

Reports say taht deputies found a multi-vehicle collision with significant injuries and requested the Special Traffic Investigators to take over the case.

The preliminary investigation shows that a red Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on Alameda with an SUV behind it. As a gray pickup approached from the east, the SUV attempted to pass the Silverado and crashed head-on into the eastbound pickup. Moments later, the Silverado collided with the SUV.

Paramedics transported the drivers of the Silverado and the pickup to a nearby hospital. The driver of the SUV, identified as Maria De Cisneros Romo of Tornillo, died at the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
