Fatal Crash Injures Five in Grimes County
Grimes County, TX (June 21, 2025) – 50-year-old Maria Tellez-Lapuente of Katy, and 4 others were hurt, while 30-year-old Robin Conley of Montgomery was killed in a crash on SH6.
According to authorities, the fatal collision happened Friday afternoon at around 1:34 PM on State Highway 6.
Reports say that the vehicle accident killed one person and injured five others.
Authorities say that a 2001 Ford Explorer traveling southbound on Highway 6 crossed the grassy median into the northbound lane and struck a 2024 Volkswagen Tao.
Authorities pronounced Conley, who was in the Explorer, dead at the scene.
Paramedics transported two female children, ages 2 and 6, also in the Explorer, to Texas Children’s Medical Center in Houston with minor injuries.
In the Volkswagen, the driver, Maria Tellez-Lapuente, sustained serious injuries and went to Memorial Hermann in Houston.
Two other passengers, 19-year-old Gabriela Tellez-Lapuente and 22-year-old Jimena Tellez-Lapuente, both received treatment for minor injuries at St. Joseph’s in Bryan.
The incident remains under investigation.
