87-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies After Vehicle Collision in Woodland

Woodland, CA (December 17, 2025) — 87-year-old Marilyn Ann Scholz of Woodland died two days after a vehicle struck her Friday in Woodland, according to authorities.

According to the Woodland Police Department, the crash happened near the intersection of West Cross and California streets, where a vehicle hit Scholz.

Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital with critical injuries.

Officials later identified the pedestrian as Scholz. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office confirmed that she died Sunday. Authorities have not released an official cause of death.

Police stated that the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated fully with the investigation. Investigators found no evidence that drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash. The incident remains under active investigation.
