Driver Martha Luna Miranda Dies, 2 Kids Seriously Injured in Salinas Street DUI Crash [Edinburg, TX]

Edinburg, TX (May 4, 2026) – Martha Luna Miranda, 39, and two children were seriously injured in a Salinas Street DUI crash late Saturday night.

According to the authorities, a westbound vehicle, driven by Miguel Angel Suarez, 31, missed a red light and struck a vehicle entering the intersection with West Monte Cristo Road.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit, Miranda, was killed at the crash scene.

Moreover, Miranda’s husband, who was occupying in the front passenger seat, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital. 

Police said a passenger in Miranda’s vehicle, a 4-year-old girl, was also treated and released.

Rescuers transported two boys, ages 5 and 9, also from Miranda’s vehicle, were rushed to a San Antonio hospital with serious injuries.

According to the authorities, Suarez, whose arraignment is scheduled for Monday at 3 p.m., is expected to face charges of intoxication manslaughter and four counts of intoxication assault.
