29-Year-Old Marvin Pineda Arrested in Deadly Crash on Sherman Way [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (May 3, 2025) – Marvin Pineda, 29, was arrested following a deadly hit-and-run crash on Sherman Way early Friday morning.

It was around 1:10 a.m. when  the pedestrian was walking across Sherman Way just east of Independence Avenue in Canoga Park.

Troopers said the man was hit by a Mercedes-Benz that was traveling east on the same street, 

 The driver, Marvin Pineda, continued driving fleeing the scene.

Sadly, the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene, Police said the victim was a man in his 60s.

Moreover, Pineda returned to the scene while detectives were there investigating. They arrested and booked him for suspicion of felony hit-and-run around 5:45 a.m.
