Novato, CA (August 27, 2026) — 59-year-old Mary Colleen Murphy and her dog died after a vehicle struck them Monday night, according to police.

The crash happened around 9 p.m. near Novato Boulevard and St. Paul Circle. Authorities identified the pedestrian as Murphy. Paramedics took her to a hospital, where she later died.

Police said the 18-year-old driver was traveling east on Novato Boulevard when the collision occurred as Murphy and her dog crossed the roadway. Investigators are still determining whether they were using the marked crosswalk at the time.
