Mary McCown Dies in Horrific Crash Near Wagon Wheel Road [Mt. Baldy, CA]

Mt. Baldy, CA (March 18, 2025) – 79-year-old Mary McCown of Rancho Cucamonga died Friday evening in a horrific crash near Wagon Wheel Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 6:30 p.m. along Mt. Baldy Road, just north of Wagon Wheel Road.

Reports say that the tragic accident claimed the life of McCown on Friday evening.

Authorities say that McCown had been inside a disabled vehicle when a 38-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man driving a Ford F-250 stopped to assist.

While reversing, the truck struck McCown, causing severe injuries. Due to a lack of cell service at the scene, those with her transported her to an area with reception to call for help.

Emergency responders took McCown to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash and urge witnesses to contact the California Highway Patrol’s Rancho Cucamonga Office.
