Mathew Galvan Dies in I-37 Tragic Crash [San Antonio, TX]

San Antonio, TX (March 10, 2026) — Early Monday morning, a passenger was hurt, and 21-year-old Mathew Galvan lost his life after a tragic crash along Interstate 37.

According to authorities, the collision happened around 2 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-37 near Carolina Street.

Investigators said Galvan was driving a Chevrolet Corvette when he lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the roadway, broke through a guardrail, and traveled down an embankment toward the access road. The Corvette eventually came to a stop against another guardrail along the access road.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Galvan dead. A passenger in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.

Officials temporarily shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 37 following the crash but later reopened the roadway. Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved.
