Matiana Jimenez Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Whittier Boulevard at Williamson Avenue

 
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (December 13, 2018) – A 74-year-old woman died Saturday morning after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on Whittier Boulevard at Williamson Avenue.
 
The devasting crash happened around 10:30 a.m. According to California Highway Patrol, Matiana “Maty” Jimenez was crossing in an unmarked crosswalk on Whittier Boulevard when she was hit by a vehicle, whose driver abruptly accelerated and made a left turn toward Williamson Avenue.
 
A surveillance footage from nearby businesses revealed a vehicle that was said to be a tan, 1990s to early 2000s Chevrolet or GMC extended cab pickup. It also had a camper shell and black rims with chrome trim around the wheels. Additionally, the camper shell may have two stickers – one in the center and the other one is on the bottom left.
 
The family, who has created a GoFundMe page, is pleading for the driver to come forward.
