Motorcyclist Killed in Moore County Crash Near Sunray

Moore County, TX (May 15, 2025) — On Thursday morning, a fatal collision in Moore County claimed the life of a 23-year-old Matthew Encinias of Dumas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on FM 119 southwest of Sunray.

Investigators reported that a 2018 Dodge Ram 3500 was traveling north when the driver attempted to turn left into a business and failed to yield the right of way, colliding with an oncoming motorcycle.

Officials say that Encinias suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by DPS.
