Matthew Taing Dead in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 290

Driver Dies in Brenham Traffic Crash

Brenham, TX (February 1, 2025) – 22-year-old Matthew Taing of Brenham was killed in a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 290 Friday morning.

The fatal crash happened before 6 a.m. at Berlin Road, west of Brenham in Washington County.

Investigators said a 2019 Toyota Camry was stopped on Berlin Road facing south when the driver, Matthew Taing, pulled out and attempted to turn left on the highway.

At the same time, a 1998 Freightliner truck-tractor semi-trailer was westbound on the same freeway and struck the Camry.

Responding officers declared Matthew Taing deceased at the scene.

The authorities are investigating.
