Injuries Reported in Brazoria County Motorcycle Accident on Highway 6 and Savannah Parkway

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX (September 29, 2025) – Sunday morning, Maurico Hairston sustained injuries in a crippling hit-and-run crash on Highway 6 and Savannah Parkway.

The incident happened at about 1:00 a.m. on Highway 6, east of Savannah Parkway.

Hairston, a Houston firefighter and EMT is recovering after being struck in a hit-and-run crash while riding his motorcycle home from a car show.

The rider, identified as Hairston, said a vehicle clipped his front wheel, sending him tumbling about 10 feet from his bike. The driver never stopped. Hairston was left in the road with a broken leg, several broken fingers, and severe road rash. He underwent emergency surgery and faces another procedure.

The 11-year Houston Fire Department veteran said he feels fortunate to have survived, having responded to many fatal motorcycle crashes in his career.

The Iowa Colony Police Department is investigating but has not identified the driver. Hairston said he did not get a clear look at the vehicle, and investigators do not yet have strong leads.

Nearly a week after the crash, Hairston said he is focused on accountability. “Admit to your fault. Admit to your wrong. I just want justice to be done,” he said.
