Maxwell Rouette Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Buena Creek Road [Vista, CA]

Vista, CA (July 24, 2025) – Authorities have identified 27-year-old Maxwell Rouette as the victim in a suspected hit-and-run crash on Buena Creek Road early Sunday morning.

Emergency crews found Rouette lying unresponsive on a pedestrian path along Buena Creek Road. Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators believe a vehicle struck Rouette and fled the area. His residence remains unknown.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his identity on Wednesday. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
