Phoenix, AZ (February 1, 2025) – 19-year-old Mea Ortiz, a female motorcyclist, was killed in a Dunlap Avenue collision early Friday morning.

The fatal collision happened around 6:30 a.m. at the intersection with 35th Avenue.

Investigators said Mea Ortiz was traveling east when a car pulled out in front of her and struck her.

Immediately, emergency rescuers responded to the scene and rushed the seriously injured rider to the hospital.

Unfortunately, Mea Ortiz succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators confirmed the victim was wearing a helmet during the collision.

The car driver remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment.
