Michael Ludwig, Others Hospitalized in Spokane Multi-Vehicle Crash

Spokane, WA (April 16, 2026) – Driver Michael Ludwig, 77, has pending charges following a US 2 collision that injured people on Tuesday.

The authorities said Ludwig was northbound on the freeway and was turning left to Denison-Chattaroy Road.

Troopers added that he turned his vehicle toward an oncoming vehicle, and struck a third vehicle stopped at the intersection’s stop sign.

Five occupants in the car he’s struck, including two 15-year-old children and a five month old baby, were hospitalized.

Ludwig was also hurt and rushed to the hospital, while the third vehicle’s driver was not injured.

WSP confirmed DUI was not a factor in the crash and stated that charges are pending against Ludwig.
