Michael Menjares of Abilene Dies in W Lake Road Collision [Abilene, TX]

Abilene, TX (June 13, 2026) – Michael Menjares, 17, of Abilene, was killed in a W Lake Road collision early Sunday morning.

It was before 1 a.m. on June 7 when the deadly solo-vehicle crash happened at the 6500 block area.

Responding officers said a Toyota RAV4 with five occupants had rolled over.

Immediately, the rescuers rushed four passengers to an area hospital, but one of the occupants, Michael Menjares, was killed at the crash scene.

Investigators said the vehicle was southbound when it swerved to the right and through a grass-lined drainage ditch where it rolled over.

The Abilene Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating and stated that intoxication was not a factor in the fatal crash.
