Michael Ochoa Dies After Hit-And-Run Crash on 18th Street in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (May 19, 2025) –  20-year-old Michael Ochoa died in a hit-and-run crash on 18th Street.

Police are actively offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash near downtown Phoenix.

The collision occurred on April 8 around 5 p.m. near 18th and Willetta streets. 

Authorities report that the suspect drove a black Dodge Ram 4500 tow truck with no visible markings.

Video footage obtained by Silent Witness shows the tow truck driver striking 20-year-old Michael Ochoa, who was riding a motorized bike. 

Tragically, Ochoa died as a result of the crash.

Investigators have identified damage on the driver’s side of the tow truck at the point of impact, and they are urging the public to help identify the person responsible.

Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. 

Callers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a reward of up to $2,000.
