Adelanto, CA (March 16, 2026) — A tragic crash on Highway 395 in Adelanto claimed the life of 24-year-old Victorville resident Miguel Escobar on the night of March 14.

Authorities said the fatal collision happened around 9:06 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 395 and Mojave Drive.

Deputies from the Victorville Police Station and crews from the Victorville Fire Department responded to reports of a motorcycle crash involving a semi-truck.

Investigators determined that Escobar was riding his motorcycle westbound on Mojave Drive when he entered the intersection and collided with a semi-truck traveling northbound on Highway 395. The truck was driven by Francisco Casillas.

The impact left Escobar with fatal injuries, and responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Officials said the semi-truck driver remained at the location and cooperated with authorities. Early findings indicate there was no suspected criminal activity connected to the crash.

Members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team handled the investigation at the scene. Authorities closed the intersection for about four hours while crews documented evidence and cleared the roadway.
