Miguel Marron Hurt in Deadly Crash on SR-28 [Quincy, WA]

Quincy, WA (December 19, 2025) — A three-vehicle crash on State Route 28 in Grant County early Thursday left Alvaro Lopez-Olmedo dead and Miguel Marron injured.

The Washington State Patrol reported that the collision happened around 5:45 a.m. at Trinidad Hill. A westbound sedan driven by 23-year-old Alvaro Lopez-Olmedo of Quincy attempted to pass another vehicle when it collided with an oncoming sedan driven by 39-year-old Miguel A. Marron of Cashmere. A third sedan, driven by 46-year-old Marisa M. Roddick of East Wenatchee, then struck Marron’s vehicle from behind.

The impact caused two of the vehicles to catch fire, and flames fully engulfed them before emergency crews arrived. Lopez-Olmedo was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. Marron suffered injuries and was taken to Confluence Health Hospital in Wenatchee for treatment. Roddick was not hurt.

Investigators determined that an unsafe passing maneuver and excessive speed contributed to the crash. The collision shut down all lanes of the highway for several hours, with traffic reopening around 9:15 a.m.
