Miguez Gonzalez Juarez Hurt in Head-On Crash on Highway 2 [Chelan County, WA]

Chelan County, WA (May 28, 2025) — 40-year-old Miguez Gonzalez Juarez is among the five people who suffered injuries Tuesday morning following a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 2 west of Cole’s Corner.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. when a pickup truck driven by 38-year-old Julia Shuck of Seattle attempted to turn left from White Pine Road onto Highway 2 and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Her vehicle collided head-on with another pickup traveling on the highway.

Emergency crews airlifted Shuck to Central Washington Hospital with serious injuries. Authorities also transported the other driver, Juarez of Mount Vernon, along with passengers Antonia Barreras Tabarez, Reyes Barreras Tabarez, and Heladio Morales Cruz, to the same hospital for treatment.

Investigators said drugs and alcohol did not contribute to the collision. The crash shut down both directions of Highway 2 for several hours while crews cleared the scene and investigators worked to determine the cause. Authorities said charges against Shuck are pending.
