Power Knocked Out after Buckeye Auto Accident on 239 Avenue and Antelope Trail

BUCKEYE, AZ (July 7, 2026) – Early Monday, a startling vehicle crash on 239 Avenue and Antelope Trail led to minor injuries.

The incident happened when a 15-year-old stole his brother’s Jeep to go on a joyride with friends.

Police said a juvenile driver crashed through an electrical box, narrowly missed a house, and came to rest on a cement block near 239th Avenue and Antelope Trail, southwest of Interstate 10 and Watson Road, just before 3 a.m.

One passenger sustained minor injuries.

Utility crews responded to the scene and restored power after the crash.

Authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of reckless driving, criminal damage, hit-and-run, and unlawful use of a vehicle.

Because the suspect is under 18, police did not release his identity.
