Police Investigate Crash on Lakeside Drive in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX (April 22, 2026)— A crash on Lakeside Drive involving a motorcycle and an SUV disrupted traffic on Amarillo Boulevard.

The collision happened on Lakeside at the triangle south of Amarillo Boulevard. Authorities closed Lakeside in both directions while crews responded to the scene.

Northbound traffic was diverted onto Amarillo Boulevard as emergency personnel worked in the area. 

Officials have not yet confirmed how the crash occurred or whether anyone was injured.

However, ABC 7 News reported seeing an ambulance enter the interstate with its lights and sirens activated.

Investigators have not released additional details about the cause of the collision. 

Drivers were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews cleared the scene.
