Motorcycle Collision on South Broadway Led to Serious Injury [St. Louis, MO]

Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Overnight Crash in South St. Louis

St. Louis, MO (May 2, 2026) — Early Friday morning, a motorcyclist suffered critical injuries after a collision on South Broadway in south St. Louis.

According to authorities, the crash happened around 2:35 a.m. at the intersection of South Broadway and Davis Street in the Patch neighborhood. The rider was traveling through the area when a pickup truck became involved in the collision, leaving the motorcyclist severely hurt.

Emergency crews transported the victim to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. Authorities later closed the intersection for several hours while accident reconstruction teams examined the scene.

Investigators continue to work to determine what led to the crash.

Let’s Avoid Traffic Accidents

Avoiding auto accidents involves paying attention and practicing safe driving methods. And as always, you should follow the speed and traffic laws, and don’t text (or use your phone in any way) behind the wheel.

Keep a safe trailing distance to be able to stop, if necessary.

Do not drink and drive, and never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you are tired.

Watch your mirrors and use your turn signals, and check your blind spots, before changing lanes or making a turn. Drive calmly and patiently, especially in heavy traffic or bad weather.

When you drive responsibly and remain alert, you help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the road safe.

Motorcycles offer little protection in collisions, making riders especially vulnerable. Drivers and riders alike should remain vigilant, obey traffic signals, and watch carefully at intersections to reduce the risk of serious injuries.
