Wrong-Way Motorcycle Crash on Highway 50 Injures Andrew Youngklein [Placerville, CA]

Placerville, CA (September 30, 2025) — On Friday evening, Andrew Youngklein and Beaumont Burgess suffered injuries after a wrong-way motorcycle crash on Highway 50.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the shocking incident happened around 9 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near the Ray Lawyer Drive overcrossing.

Reports say that 48-year-old Beaumont Burgess of Placerville rode a motorcycle westbound in the eastbound lanes near the Ray Lawyer Drive overcrossing. He collided head-on with a Subaru WRX driven by Andrew Youngklein, also from Placerville.

The impact ejected Burgess from his motorcycle, leaving him with major injuries. Emergency crews rushed him to a Sacramento-area hospital. Youngklein also sustained injuries and was taken to Marshall Hospital.

According to authorities, Placerville Police had been pursuing Burgess before the collision. Police are leading the criminal investigation, while CHP continues to handle the crash details.
