1 Person Dead in Colorado Springs Motorcycle Accident on South Academy Boulevard near East Fountain Boulevard

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (February 8, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a horrific motorcycle crash on South Academy Boulevard near East Fountain Boulevard killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:00 p.m. on South Academy Boulevard just south of East Fountain Boulevard.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed struck a pickup truck that was crossing the intersection.

Moreover, responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the truck to a hospital with minor injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
