Motorcyclist, 42, Dies in Head-On Crash on Valley Center Road [Valley Center, CA]

VALLEY CENTER, CA (August 4, 2019) – A motorcyclist died in a head-on crash on Valley Center Road, late Sunday afternoon. Authorities withheld the identity of the 42-year-old victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Round Tree Road, at about 4:25 PM. Due to unknown reasons, an eastbound 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250 crossed into the westbound lanes. There, it collided with a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup towing a utility trailer.
 
The rider was ejected from his motorcycle as a result of the collision. Unfortunately, he died at the scene. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old pickup driver did not sustain injuries in the crash. Also, he remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
