Motorcyclist Daniel Grimes Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 49 [El Dorado, CA]

El Dorado, CA (July 3, 2024) – Daniel Grimes of Angel’s Camp sustained injuries following a hit-and-run crash on Highway 49 Monday.

Officers said it was around 5:05 p.m. when Grimes was riding a Honda motorcycle when a black Hyundai Elantra struck him.

A person who wished to remain anonymous said they arrived at the scene minutes after the crash and saw a blonde female in her late 30s to mid-40s grab and put a damaged bumper in her vehicle. They said the driver drove east on East China Hill Road and did not call 911.

Grimes was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with major injuries.

The authorities are investigating.
