Crash at Galm Road and Shoreline Drive

A 23-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with an SUV near Galm Road and Shoreline Drive in San Antonio late Thursday morning, July 31, 2025. The occupants of the SUV were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, according to reports citing San Antonio police.

The San Antonio Express-News reported that an SAPD preliminary report placed the crash shortly before noon and said the SUV was turning onto Shoreline Drive when it was struck by the motorcycle. The report said the motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle.

Witnesses told police the motorcyclist had been traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving through traffic before the collision, according to the Express-News account. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Ian Michael Garcia, 23, and reported that he died from blunt force injuries.
