1 Dead and 1 Injured in Crash on HK Dodgen Loop in Temple
Temple, TX (July 9, 2026) – A motorcyclist died in a crash on HK Dodgen Loop Wednesday night.
The crash was reported at approximately 8:02 p.m. on Northeast HK Dodgen Loop near Logistics Way. When officers arrived, they found a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle involved in the collision.
Preliminary findings indicate the driver of the vehicle was traveling westbound and attempting to make a left turn when the vehicle collided with an eastbound motorcycle.
Emergency responders transported the driver of the vehicle to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The motorcyclist was also taken to a hospital, where Justice of the Peace Larry Wilkey later pronounced the rider dead.
No other injuries were reported.
The Temple Police Department‘s Traffic Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the fatal crash. Authorities reopened the roadway at approximately 1:40 a.m. Thursday.
The investigation remains ongoing.
