Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on State Route 94 [Dulzura, CA]

1 Killed and 1 Injured in Crash on State Route 94 in Dulzura

DULZURA, CA (January 7, 2026) – A 30-year-old motorcyclist from Chula Vista tragically lost his life Wednesday morning after a fatal crash on State Route 94 involving an on-duty firefighter’s pickup truck.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the 17300 block of SR-94, directly in front of Cal Fire Station 30, according to the California Highway Patrol and Cal Fire.

CHP reports that the motorcyclist was riding a 2021 Yamaha westbound on the highway when the driver of an eastbound 2023 Toyota Tacoma attempted to make a left turn into the station. 

The truck turned directly into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a violent collision.

Tragically, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. 

Authorities confirmed that a 33-year-old Cal Fire employee from Imperial Beach was driving the truck. 

Though the firefighter was on duty, he was operating his personal vehicle at the time of the crash.

Paramedics transported the driver to a hospital in San Diego for treatment of minor injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
