Motorist Killed in Capital City Freeway Accident [Sacramento, CA]

Sacramento, CA (March 23, 2026) – A motorist was killed in a Capital City Freeway accident early Friday morning.

The authorities received the crash report before 2 a.m. on the northbound lanes of the freeway, south of El Camino Avenue.

Responding officers located the victim lying in the roadway and declared them deceased at the scene. 

Moreover, investigators determined that the motorist stopped and attempted to remove a large piece of wood from the road when they were hit by a vehicle. 

Troopers are conducting a further investigation into the fatal crash.
