71-Year-Old Cameron Driver Killed, Passenger Seriously Hurt in Four-Vehicle Caldwell County Crash
Caldwell County, MO (July 19, 2026) — On Friday, a 71-year-old Cameron man died, and his passenger suffered serious injuries following a four-vehicle collision on Old Highway 36 in Caldwell County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old driver from Kidder was traveling east on Old Highway 36 near Route DD when he crossed the centerline. His vehicle first sideswiped a westbound vehicle driven by a 58-year-old Cameron man before crashing head-on into a second westbound vehicle operated by the 71-year-old victim. A fourth westbound vehicle then struck the second vehicle from behind.
Emergency responders transported the 71-year-old driver to Cameron Regional Medical Center, where he later died. His 65-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital for treatment. Authorities reported no other injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
