Tragic Multi-Car Collision on Southwest Freeway Claims a Life [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (March 14, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on Southwest Freeway in Houston left one person dead and several others injured early Thursday morning.

According to Houston police, the crash occurred around 5:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes when a white Ford Expedition stopped in a moving lane due to a flat tire. A black Kia Sportage rear-ended the Ford, followed by a silver BMW 5 colliding with the Kia.

Emergency responders transported three people from the Kia, the BMW driver, and a Ford passenger to the hospital.

The Kia’s front passenger, an 18-year-old male, later succumbed to his injuries. The other victims sustained minor injuries.

Authorities reported that the Ford’s driver fled the scene on foot and remains unidentified.
