Frightening Multi-Car Crash on Fairmount Avenue Kills 1 [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (May 24, 2025) — A woman died Wednesday night in San Diego’s Talmadge neighborhood after a three-vehicle crash on Fairmount Avenue involving a disabled car.

The collision happened around 10:05 p.m. in the 4900 block of Fairmount Avenue. Police said the woman was sitting inside a disabled Toyota Camry stopped in the southbound No. 2 lane with its hazard lights activated.

A 39-year-old man had parked his Honda Fit behind the Camry to assist the stranded driver.

Investigators said a 25-year-old man driving a Saab 9-3 southbound attempted to move around a slower vehicle but crashed into the rear of the disabled Camry. The impact pushed the Camry into the Honda Fit parked ahead.

The woman inside the Camry suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Authorities stated that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
