Kansas Driver Seriously Hurt in Three-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 50 in Pettis County
Pettis County, MO (June 13, 2025) — On Thursday, a 37-year-old man from Lawrence, Kansas, suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 50 in Pettis County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a Ford F-150 traveling west on U.S. 50 struck the rear of a Kia Sorento. After the initial impact, the pickup crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Ram 1500.
The Kansas driver of the Ram sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities reported that the drivers of the Ford and Kia were not injured in the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
Let’s Avoid Traffic Accidents
Avoiding auto accidents involves paying attention and practicing safe driving methods. And as always, you should follow the speed and traffic laws, and don’t text (or use your phone in any way) behind the wheel.
Keep a safe trailing distance to be able to stop, if necessary.
Do not drink and drive, and never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you are tired.
Watch your mirrors and use your turn signals, and check your blind spots, before changing lanes or making a turn. Drive calmly and patiently, especially in heavy traffic or bad weather.
When you drive responsibly and remain alert, you help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the road safe.
Rear-end collisions can quickly escalate into more serious crashes when vehicles lose control or enter oncoming traffic. Drivers should maintain a safe following distance, stay attentive, and adjust their speed to road conditions to help prevent devastating accidents.
