Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 35 Injures DPS Trooper [Laredo, TX]

Laredo, TX (August 10, 2023) On Wednesday evening, a Texas DPS trooper was sent to the hospital after a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 35.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), the traffic crash happened at about 6:50 p.m. at Mile Post 55 on southbound I-35.

Reports say that the trooper was the middle of making a traffic stop, when an F-150 with California license plates, struck the officer from behind.

Officials say that another vehicle as involved in the crash, however no additional information about the 2nd vehicle was available at this time.

Medics airlifted the injured officer to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

TxDPS is investigating the traffic crash.
