Frightening Multi-Vehicle Collision on 21st Street Under Investigation [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (August 29, 2025) On Friday afternoon, authorities suspect a driver was under the influence during a multi-vehicle collision on 21st Street that involved a firetruck.

According to authorities, the collision happened around 12:30 p.m. at 21st Street and A Street.

Fire officials said a firetruck was heading east when a speeding pickup attempted to pass but struck another vehicle before crashing into the front of the firetruck.

The second vehicle, identified as a Tele-Tec truck, sustained major damage, and its driver suffered minor injuries. No firefighters were hurt.

Bakersfield police are investigating the incident. Drivers are advised to avoid the area while crews clear the scene.
