Frightening Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 54 Injures Two People [Audrain County, MO]

Audrain County, MO (August 26, 2025) On Monday morning, a three-vehicle collision on Highway 54 at County Road 485 left two people injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, that an 89-year-old Martinsburg man struck the back of a GMC Terrain that had stopped for another vehicle making a turn.

The impact pushed the SUV into a 31-year-old Vandalia woman’s vehicle before the man’s car continued forward and hit a third vehicle, also driven by a 31-year-old from Vandalia.

Paramedics transported a 34-year-old woman to University Hospital with serious injuries. The elderly driver was taken to the VA Hospital in Columbia with minor injuries. All drivers involved had seat belts on at the time of the crash.
