Three-Vehicle Crash Disrupts I-5 Traffic Near Tumwater

Tumwater, WA (August 21, 2025) – A three-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 slowed traffic Tuesday morning near 93rd Avenue.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened around 7:35 a.m. when a driver slowed to merge due to a lane closure for re-striping.

During the merge, the driver struck a Ford van, causing it to lose control and crash into a pickup truck. The impact flipped the van onto its side, while the pickup rolled into a ditch.

Troopers reported that minor injuries at the scene. By 10 a.m., crews were still working to remove the overturned truck.
