Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 at 5th and V Streets Causes Major Delays

EUREKA, CA (November 27, 2025) — A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 101 late Thursday morning prompted lane closures and significant congestion throughout the area.

According to initial scanner traffic, the collision occurred near the intersection of 5th and V Streets, and early reports indicated that at least three vehicles were involved. 

Later updates confirmed that four vehicles were impacted in the chain-reaction crash.

Emergency responders arrived on scene and diverted northbound traffic off the highway at 5th and R Streets, resulting in delays and traffic congestion along Myrtle Avenue and West Avenue, according to Caltrans QuickMap.

Fortunately, all parties involved in the crash declined medical assistance at the scene, suggesting no serious injuries were sustained. 

However, the incident caused major travel disruptions and drew a significant emergency response. 

As of this report, the cause of the collision has not been released, and authorities continue to investigate.

Drivers in the area were advised to expect residual delays and seek alternate routes while the scene was cleared.
