Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 16 Led to Injury [San Antonio, TX]

San Antonio, TX (November 12, 2025) — A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 16 left a Texas DPS trooper injured Monday afternoon after a high-speed pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.

Authorities say that the chase began in McMullen County around 3 p.m. when a deputy spotted a stolen vehicle and tried to pull it over. Despite several spike strip attempts, the suspect continued driving the wrong way for nearly 90 miles at speeds exceeding 100 mph.

The pursuit came to an end when the suspect crashed into multiple vehicles near Palo Alto Road and Applewhite Meadow. Authorities said five to six passengers were inside the suspect’s car, and several people involved in the crash were transported to nearby hospitals.

The DPS trooper sustained injuries during the incident, though the extent of those injuries remains unknown. The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to face multiple charges.
