1 Person Dead in Thousand Palms Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 10 near Washington Street

THOUSAND PALMS, CA (April 15, 2026) – Tuesday morning, a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Washington Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 7:50 a.m. on Interstate 10 near Washington Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an eastbound big rig veered off the roadway, struck multiple vehicles, plowed through the center median, and collided with a cement truck and a Jeep.

Moreover, responders pronounced the driver of the cement truck dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the semi to Desert Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers said that six people were assessed and treated at the scene.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued investigating the crash.
