2 People Hospitalized in Pierce County Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 5

PIERCE COUNTY, WA (February 17, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a crippling multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 injured two people.

The incident happened at around 4:00 p.m. on the southbound Interstate 5.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash involved a total of four vehicles.

Moreover, responders transported a 46-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, officers arrested a 73-year-old woman on suspicion of driving under the influence, two counts of vehicular assault, and reckless endangerment.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
