GILBERT, AZ (July 27, 2026) – Sunday morning, a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Loop 202 Santan and Higley Road killed one person.

The incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. on Loop 202 Santan and Higley Road.

According to reports, a dark colored Volkswagen Jetta collided with a Volkswagen EV that was stopped due to mechanical issues. Then, a Chevrolet pickup struck the Volkswagen Jetta moments later.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the female driver of the Jetta died in the crash.
