Two Minors Injured in Crash on Southbound US Highway 101 in Eureka

EUREKA, CA (June 17, 2026)— Three people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on southbound US Highway 101 near Mid City Motorworld, just north of Eureka, on Wednesday evening.

According to California Highway Patrol incident logs, the crash was first reported at about 5:46 p.m.

Initial reports indicated that four vehicles may have been involved, though officials had not confirmed the total number of vehicles at the time.

The collision initially blocked traffic lanes and caused delays in the southbound lanes. CHP records showed that at least two vehicles sustained major front-end damage.

A Toyota Matrix became disabled and could not be moved from the roadway, while a Ford Fusion also sustained major front-end damage.

A witness reported seeing two ambulances and five law enforcement vehicles at the crash scene around 6:10 p.m.

Authorities had not immediately released full details about the number or severity of injuries.

However, reports indicated that at least three people were taken to the hospital, including two minors and one adult.

Two services were requested shortly before 6 p.m., and Pacific Towing responded to remove the damaged vehicles.

Emergency crews later cleared the roadway. In an update issued at 7:23 p.m., CHP reported that the crash involved minor injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

Trusted Legal Guidance for Families After Multi-Vehicle Highway Accidents

A crash involving several vehicles can be frightening and chaotic, especially when children are among those taken to the hospital.

Even when authorities classify injuries as minor, victims may still experience pain, emotional distress, medical expenses, and uncertainty about what to do next.

Some injuries may also worsen after the initial shock wears off, making follow-up medical care and proper documentation especially important.

At Sweet Lawyers, we understand how stressful the aftermath of a highway collision can be for victims and their families.

Multi-vehicle crashes often involve complicated questions about fault, insurance coverage, vehicle damage, medical treatment, and who may be responsible for the losses suffered.

Our personal injury team helps accident victims navigate these issues with compassion, clarity, and professionalism.

Collisions on busy highways like U.S. Highway 101 can require careful investigation.

Attorneys may review CHP reports, witness statements, vehicle damage, roadway conditions, traffic patterns, photographs, surveillance footage, and medical records to better understand what happened.

When multiple drivers are involved, determining liability may be more complex, and insurance companies may try to shift blame or minimize claims.

Sweet Lawyers is committed to protecting the rights of injured victims and helping families pursue the compensation they may be entitled to after a serious crash.

Compensation may include medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, rehabilitation costs, and other accident-related damages. Our team provides supportive guidance from the first conversation and works to reduce the burden on victims while they focus on recovery.
