SAN DIEGO, CA (August 27, 2026) – Late Monday night, a male rider died in a devastating multi-vehicle crash on State Route 163 and Robinson Street.

The crash involving a motorcycle hit by two vehicles happened on State Route 163 and Robinson Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 22-year-old Ohio man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was killed in a multi-vehicle crash.

CHP said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound south of Robinson Street around 11:30 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle struck the center median guardrail, ejecting the rider into the roadway.

The rider was then struck by a Tesla Model Y driven by a 25-year-old man and a Toyota Camry driven by a 48-year-old man. He suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tesla and Toyota drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. CHP said neither driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A toxicology report for the motorcycle rider is pending through the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The crash remains under investigation by CHP San Diego Area. Witnesses are asked to contact CHP at (858) 293-6000.
