Three Killed in Christmas Day Head-On Crash on State Route 12

Walla Walla, WA (December 27, 2025) — A head-on collision on State Route 12 west of Walla Walla on Christmas Day claimed the life of Nashiely Bustamante and 2 others from Moses Lake, including a six-month-old infant.

Authorities reported that Gustavo Guzman-Gomez, 34, was driving eastbound when his vehicle collided with a westbound pickup truck driven by 22-year-old Brandon T. McGary from Benton City. Guzman-Gomez and passenger Nashiely J. Bustamante, 27, died at the scene. The infant was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, but later succumbed to injuries.

McGary sustained injuries and was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center for treatment. Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the crash and has not yet announced any charges.
